Marc is the son of our founder, Frank Perkins. He began working on farms at the age of 16 before studying Agricultural Merchanting in Nottingham in 1983. A few years later, Marc joined the family firm in his mid-twenties and hasn’t looked back since.

Today, Marc helps steer the business alongside his daughter, Ellen, and is our go-to man for all things pigs and poultry — although anyone who knows him will tell you pigs have always been his favourite!

Ellen Perkins

Ellen joined the family business in 2017. Her role within the company has evolved significantly over the years, beginning as an assistant in the company’s former upholstery department before working her way up to Company Director in 2025.

You’ll usually find Ellen in the farm store where, as a keen SQP, she enjoys advising local farmers and making every customer feel welcome with her warm and enthusiastic nature.

Leigh Watts

Leigh has been working with Perkins since 2012 and is a well-known face on the farms in East Devon. Leigh spent many years working for Genus as an AI technician before hanging up his catheter and joining the Perkins team.

Leigh looks after customers east of Exeter and is known for being reliable, efficient, and always willing to lend a hand — he’s even been known to help with the odd milking!

Tom is the newest addition to the Perkins sales team, joining the company in 2024 after managing a beef herd in Chumleigh. Tom now supports our farmers west of Exeter and brings hands-on experience rearing a wide variety of livestock.

Always happy to share his knowledge, Tom is just as likely to offer an amusing tale along the way too.
