Downland Calcium Bolus – Pack of 12
Downland Calcium boluses help to manage the calcium status of the herd. Can be given to all cattle either just prior to or after calving as blanket herd support.
Suitable for:
- Dairy Cows
Target Animals: Dairy cows over 400kg liveweight, around calving.
Pre and post calving regime: Administer one bolus per animal at the first sign of calving. Follow up with a second bolus up to 12 hours later ideally.
Post calving regime: Administer one bolus immediately after calving. Follow up with a second bolus up to 12 hours later ideally.
Reduces the risk of milk fever and reduces the risk of relapse if given after IV calcium.
One bolus contains 43 g calcium (3.5 x the amount of calcium in 1 bottle of injectable.*)
One bolus = a cow’s daily requirement of DCAB calcium: calcium chloride, 31g (fast release) and calcium sulphate, 12g (slow release).
DCAB calcium will support a cow’s ability to efficiently mobilise calcium from bone reserves and increase calcium absorption from diet.
Easy to administer.
